Wednesday and im in LOVE

October 15th, 2008 · No Comments

I’m almost speechless, got my greedy hands on the Sony VAIO VGN-Z11WN laptop, and im stunned. Its kicks my Stationary Puter back to the stone age , with a System Index at 4.4 its as fast as my former Game machine. So now its for me to put in my 3G simcard (the one from T-Mobile  in the UK wouldn’t be good here in Sweden) and test it in the environments where i perform my blogging , you know at the cafe’s on the train and on the movie sets.

sony_vaio_CR_Series

Don’t be fooled when you look at the compact size of this, its really an full-grown machine for everything from work to just pure fun.

The design is flawless, it feels like a piece of candy, light functional and just perfect, the display feels so thin when you open it, but when you do you are presented with graphics that really takes your breath away. On top of that its an webcam (and how they got that in there is a mystery) so its just to connect with your Mobile broadband provider, start MSN or skype and chat with sound vision and delight

Spotify a new streaming music sensation on the web

October 7th, 2008 · No Comments

Spotify, what about that, a nice place for music on the web. Just coming from the beta / invite state and finally going public it seems to be a good place to find music for all occasions when you are behind the display (or on your  media station at home?) Visit www.spotify.com and see for your self what you can find therespotify_desktop_client

Its a nice GUI and they seems to have filled up the servers with great tunes (have to check back for that one)

Sony MDR-NC500D Lovely design in a box

October 3rd, 2008 · No Comments

Its time again for a test, now its the Sony MDR-NC500D that’s landed in my home and i just threw myself over them like a hungry wolf, ripping the package up and eager to get the feeling of noiseless music enjoyment

The first impression is that they feel quite heavy for being “just” headphones, but the explanation comes directly when you put them on, switching them on, the background noise almost disappears and you can really concentrate on the music that you are getting out of your media player .

So this has been my location today:

Relaxingly nice

Just in the reach of my arm…

Sony Rolly

September 24th, 2008 · No Comments

The latest 2 weeks i had the opportunity to test the neat Sony Rolly, a gadget that is a guaranteed party starter :-)

To get it Up and Running was a piece of cake, just unwrap it, put in the battery , plug in the USB cable and charge it up with both electricity and neat music.

So what’s so special with the Rolly? Lets say its a lot of technology in a small package, just to see it dance and twinkle with the lights makes you smile, and the ability to let it play the contents from your Bluetooth phone or player is a bonus . The only thing that i miss on it is a remote control, its quite tricky to change tracks and track lists but no complaints…

Here its a tribal dance to the sound of Scooter :-)

Tech spec:

  • Bluetooth Audio Streaming
  • Stream music from your PC directly to the Rolly for your listening enjoyment.
  • Up to 5 hours of Music Playback -The internal battery provides up to 5 hours continuous music or 4 hours of music and motion playback for your enjoyment.
  • MP3 playback and Support - Supports playback of MP3 .
  • 2GB Built-in Memory - Store up to 515 songs on your Rolly.
  • Shuffle Play -Switch the play mode from normal to shuffle just by shaking the Rolly several times when the side light is orange
  • Customized Motion -With the Rolly Choreographer Ver. 1.0 software create your own motions
  • Auto Motion -The Rolly Choreographer Ver. 1.0 software will automatically analyze the song and create motion based on the music.
  • Self Motion -Rolly analyzes the music and creates motion automatically when no motion is programmed into it.
  • 180 Degree Horizontal Opposed/Baffle Effect -Play music without losing sound quality because of the directional characteristics that convey the shape of sound by using the reflection of the ground.

New Server & Rolly dances in my House

September 15th, 2008 · No Comments

Im quite feed up with my Microsoft HomeServer, its so limited so it takes a lot of effort to make it do what i want it to do, i might go back to Linux MCE version, just for the media capacity and for the possibillity to have it to Play my media files in my Car-Pc , yes my car-pc project is still alive and its going green. I want to build a “green” multimedia car with Ethanol in the gas tank and  solarpanels for the energy … Quite nice

Its fun planning this, i just made a quick and dirty repair on the amplifier for the car, im in need of an 4 channel amp and a 2 channel, but for the moment its just my Old Sony that makes the music flow.

And talking about Sony, the Rolly that i have for testing is soooooo nice, it dances around on my floor and keeping my multimedia vision up and going, the only ting it would need is a remote control, to change songs…..

Repairing my Amplifier

September 14th, 2008 · No Comments

After the upgrade of the Alpine headunit (with an imprint box) i needed to fix the amplifier, before everything worked just fine, had the front and back speakers on the units amp, and the sub on the sony amp, but with the box im in need of one 4-chanel amp + one 2 chanel for the sub system, and to be honest my purse is quite empty. So i have to dust off the old soldering iron and get to work fixing atleast 2 new chanels
